Through a mixture of presentations about relevant theory, tools and techniques, as well as facilitated and experiential learning exercises designed specifically to provide hands-on practice you will develop your mentoring capacity. Mentoring Program

Overview

Many leaders are moved to ‘give back’ and make a difference to those less experienced, but they don’t necessarily know how to go about this.

Mentoring is increasingly encouraged in organisations as an informal way to match leaders with less experienced people to develop their skills. To enhance the value of mentoring, leaders can really benefit from training to build skill and confidence in focusing on the mentees’ needs and sharing relevant wisdom and experiences effectively.

This half-day mentoring workshop is designed to prepare participants to undertake the rewarding and satisfying role of a mentor in a confident and effective manner.

Program Outcomes

A balance of information, self-discovery and practice will enable participants to:

  • Understand what mentoring is and is not.
  • Appreciate the qualities and attributes of an effective mentor.
  • Learn how mentoring can empower others.
  • Plan and design a mentoring conversation.
  • Identify and value the experiences they’ve had that may be useful to others.
  • Practice communicating effectively in a mentoring context.
